Chalford Building Supplies on the Chalford Industrial Estate occupies one of the oldest mill sites in the Frome Valley. There is a record of a mill on the site dating back to 1227. In 1875 the existing large mill building called New Mill, the main feature of the estate and owned by Chalford Building Supplies, was built. The mill along with Bliss Mill, Mugmore Mill and Spring Mill represents one of the largest concentration of mills in the valley. Chalford Building Supplies is a family owned business founded in 1971 and has been supplying general building materials to the trade for 40 years. In the mid nineties it expanded its range into hard landscaping products and opened the Chalford Landscaping Centre. It now stocks a very wide range of paving and landscaping products to suit most garden designs and budgets. In 2001 it further expanded into the supply and installation of kitchens and bathrooms and opened Chalford Interiors. “Chalford’s Best Kept Secret” aptly describes the kitchen and bathroom showroom located on the first floor.
